Edinboro

the semester rolls on

by jay on September 20, 2006

Well, we’re into the thick of it now.

Carrie and I are now leading Bible studies on 3 campuses. Carrie is leading women’s Bible studies at Clarion (Tues. 6PM in the Gemmel Student Center) and Edinboro (Sunday 7PM on the 7th floor of the Library). I’m also leading one at Clarion (same time, in the Library) and at Edinboro (Wed 4:30 7th floor Library) for guys and the one the will hopefully be the cornerstone for the ministry at Behrend (Thursdays at 8:30, the location is still being worked out).

Also, we’re working and helping to start the new Gathering Erie which will be meeting in the Cellblock dance club in downtown Erie on Sunday nights starting in October. We’re excited for new possibilities in the Erie area.

One other thing is that we also have the Western PA Fall Retreat coming up on the weekend that bridges the end of September and Beginning of October – pray that we’d have a good turnout and weather would be good for the event.

Well, I need to get some stuff done before leaving for Edinboro to lead the study and speak at Cru (the weekly meeting).

Thank you for all of your prayers!

Back on campus

by jay on January 19, 2006

Edinboro CruYesterday was our first day back to campus for the semester. We headed to Edinboro for “Cru” the weekly meeting. I was able to meet with Greg (the student leader) and see how he was doing and get the ball rolling for the semesters goals.

Carrie met and followed up with some girls who came to the focus group that she did last semester and was able to take one of the more involved students out to talk with random people in the UC.

“Cru” was a good time for students to reconnect after a month away. We’re excited that 13 of them are planning on going to the Katrina Relief Spring break in a couple months!

hard news…

January 4, 2006

Today I received a call from Libbie, one of our recently-graduated Edinboro student leaders with some bad news. (For those that keep up with our newsletter, you may remember her from November’s update.) We’ve known Libbie since her freshman year, and it’s been fun to watch her grow into a strong woman of the Lord [...]

New Week – New Challenges

October 31, 2005

This week shouldn’t be nearly as busy as last week, but will still be full for Carrie and I. Today (like most Mondays) is our planning day, preparing for Bible studies, ‘Cru’ meetings, appointments and beginning the week with the Lord. We’ll spend a lot of today at a desk or in front of a [...]
