Pre-Newsletter Update

My screen at work.

by jay on February 15, 2011

Our most recent newsletter will be on its way to you all this week.  I’ll be sharing a bit of vision for what exactly my job is down here in Orlando.

In the mean time I wanted to update you on two things that we had asked for prayer about since the beginning of the year:

  • We did purchase a car – a 2005 Impala. It ended up being a little more than we were planning, but that extra $1,000 bought us 20,000 (fewer) miles on the odometer and we were still able to pay cash.
  • The Westboro Baptist Church’s protest at American University ended up pretty much being a non-event. They showed up and were largely ignored by the students and general community – they ended up spending a few hours out in the freezing rain an shouting at no one.

Thank you for your prayers.

Mentoring (prayer letter)

by jay on March 26, 2007

As I’ve been on staff longer and longer, I’ve started to realize the thing that I am most passionate about – seeing guys’ lives change; seeing them grow into men after God’s own heart.

In this month’s prayer letter, I share about working toward that – I share a little bit of my heart and it’s fighting to see young men pursue God with all of theirs.

Make sure to check out this month’s extras in to get a glimpse of some of these studs.
