Freshman Survival Kits – EUP

Today was the first day of handing out Freshman Survival Kits. We were at Edinboro and handed out 200 to students in the University Center. The FSK’s included:

- a New Testament
- Blue Like Jazz by Don Miller
- a card for 3 free music downloads from PassAlong.com
- a DVD-ROM with evangelistic videos, short films and other content
- a laundry bag with an ad for EveryStudent.com (an evangelistic website)
- a flier for our weekly meeting at Edinboro
- a copy of Risen magazine containing interviews with musicians, sports figures and actors about thier faith

Our hope is was to turn up contacts of students that would be willing to be a part of the movement there as well as ones who want to learn more about Christ and what it means to follow Him. Of the 200 we gave out about a half of the people said they “might” or “would” be interested (a survey accompanied it).

Please pray that our follow up with them would go well and that students would come to know Christ as thier Saviour.

Today’s meeting lasted from 10 to 4:30 about 2 and a half hours longer than planned. It’s gone well so far and we’ve split the schools between our teams for now; here’s the breakdown of the schools that Carrie and I will be on:

Both of us:

  • Gannon University
  • Mercyhurst College

    Jayson:

  • California University of PA
  • University of Pitt. – Bradford Campus
  • University of Pitt. – Titusville

    Carrie:

  • Clarion University of PA
  • Theil College

    First Weekly Meeting at Edinboro
